About the concert
Contemporary composer Caroline Shaw has dedicated her piece «To the Hands» to all the world’s internally displaced people. It is a beautiful piece which can give associations to longing, despair and hope. The work draws inspiration and elements from «Membra Jesu Nostri» by 18th century composer Dietrich Buxtehude.
The other pieces in the concert are chosen as musical supplements/commentaries from works that have also been important in the first ten years of Ole Bull Chamber Choir. As performers of music we always chase experiences that cannot be put into words. In this sense, music has magical powers.
Welcome to the concert!
